Longjing Green Tea Restaurant is located at the Groundfloor (North Wing) of Queensbay Mall. This Zhejiang-cuisine restaurant chain is getting rave reviews in Penang, drawing good crowds even on a weekday. They have already opened three restaurants in Penang!

Two months ago, we tried the Longjing Restaurant at Gurney Plaza and here we are at Queensbay Mall, for more. The restaurant have similar set-up - cheerful waiters and waitresses in Chinese gowns greet you as you enter a beautiful oriental setting. We were early, and soon enough more and more customers were making their way in. Thankfully, Allan and Lucy took the trouble to be early to secure a table.

 

We started with the Cripsy Roast Duck with Green Scallion, reasonably priced at RM51.00. We also ordered (and polished off) the Signature Stewed Taro - excellently prepared and so flavourful. Certainly our favourite! The Vermicelli Wrapped Shrimps was another delight. A nice pot full of big fresh prawns, vermicelli and matching condiments. Our compliments to the chef! The other two dishes, Clams and Loofah, and Stewed Tofu in Claypot were just as tasty. It’s no wonder that Longjing is spreading its wings in Malaysia.

We ended the wonderful afternoon with a visit to Haagen Das, the 65 year old American ice-cream joint. Cheers!
